  1. Omega Enterprises did the renovations to our home in LaPlace after Hurricane Isaac. I would urge anyone considering using Omega to think twice. The quality of the work is generally good, its everything else that is bad. We talked with Dan Nitchske several times trying to resolve and prevent the problems and got nowhere since he didn’t see why him selecting tile, front doors, etc that went in our house and installing them without consulting us when we had told him we would select these was a problem. We ended up filing a complaint with the state licensure board this week. We gave him 5-1/2 months to do interior repairs after we received 8-10 inches of water in Isaac. He waited until the last 6 weeks to do any substantial work past installation of sheetrock and still couldn’t meet the deadline. Our renovations were basic interior renovations, sheetrock, painting, installation of cabinets and floors. The mistakes they made such as failing to order cabinets in time resulting in us paying twice as much and then they charged overhead/profit on the higher cost we had to pay as a result of their mistake. He quoted us a wrong allowance on our floor and gave us samples to select from saying they were all in our price range. After we made the selectIon and the floor was installed, he said we went over the floor allowance by $750. Dan made selections on tile, doors, etc without consulting us even after we had notified him we had made these selections and had discussed this issue when we signed the contract. he ignored text and email messages and said that he forgot when we asked why he made selections that we had indicated him numerous times we were making. In one instance, the tile floor on the shower floor that we selected and he had installed was pulled up and a tile that he selected installed instead. We weren’t notified he had done this and only found out while doing the final walk through. His reason was that he thought he had bought the tile, the floor was uneven and had to be pulled up and he didn’t like the tile he said he thought he had selected and replaced it with another tile. This was despite the fact that he hadn’t bought the tile, I had sent him pictures and pictures of the Home Depot color and sku number and he had texts where he acknowledged us buying the tile and in spite of the fact that when we brought it up to him he and my husband discussed the tile, including laying it out on the bathroom floor to talk about the best way to lay it. He charged us for the tile he purchased even though we had already purchased the tile and he decided to pull it up and then charged profit and overhead in addition. We had to repurchase the tile we originally selected and bought, bring it up a 2nd time for him to reinstall all due to yet another instance of him “forgetting”. We have now paid for tile twice out of pocket plus been charged by him for the tile he purchased. We ended up not with what we wanted our house to look like but with what Omega Enterprises felt our house should look like.
